Why SDG#4?
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are a crucial topic when we talk about peoples’ rights and duties. Every citizen wants to be heard, and even more importantly, wants to have a comfortable life, to feel that they matter and that they can do anything to improve their quality of life, whether it is on a mental, physical or intellectuallevel. Even though we should all have the same opportunities in life, which isnot happening throughout the globe. This isnot right, that is why we have decided to participate in this competition, convey our ideas and fight for a change. Therefore, we have set some goals and targets to reach.
Although the 17 SDG are fundamental in their own way, we have concluded that we should fight for a better education due to the fact that our learning foundation is what shapes our personality and turns us into informed and valuable citizens.
Many people have different principles given the fact that they grew with them or had an intensive contact with those ideals. This shows why education is extremely important: different ways of bringing children up will probably result in different perspectives on life when they become adults.
By highlighting SDG#4 (Quality Education) we intend to make a change! The education system is a very controversial, troubled issue. The one we know best is obviously the Portuguese one, so that will be our action field. It has many flaws (like any man-made social infrastructure), flaws that condemn the life of many people and that have shaped theprevious generations and will shape the new ones to come.
